Happy New Year
Every major religion has language of peace and love in its traditions. Sadly many so-called Christians have stopped reading the parts of their holy book that speaks of peace and love. Of treating your neighbor as you wish to be treated and helping those who are in need of help. Instead there are Christians who want God to smite those with whom they disagree. They pray for storms and floods to afflict those they see as enemies while ignoring our shared humanity.

Sophie Lynne has attended Pennsylvania State University twice. She was present in Happy Valley during the Reagan years but she wasn’t happy. She was holding on to her deep, dark secret. With good reason. Come out as trans back then and there were consequences. Since then there has been more tolerance for LGBTQ people and during her second time at PSU Sophie has seen the new LGBTQ students have many more resources.

Hard Times for Trans People
Rabbah Rona Matlow, like many transgender folks in the USA is feeling stressed over the continuing attacks by right wing politicians on the LGBTQ+s community. If she thought there was any other place to migrate to she would seriously consider going there. But she knows the answer to the situation we’re in. Everyone needs to vote the haters out of the legislatures and replace them with legislators who will repeal the anti-trans laws.

Memory?
We are the sum of our experiences and it’s memory that lets us hold on to all the experiences, good and bad, that we have in the course of a lifetime. When young humans get to be old humans the cliche is that memory fails us. That’s true for some while others remain sharp. Then there are some who can tell you what they had to eat on one day while they were 13-years-old, but can’t remember if they took their medications in the here and now. Sophie Lynne has always had a good memory. Today she writes about it after it fails her with a deadline looming.

Mistranslations and Deliberate Inaccuracies
The Christian community in the U.S. reads their bibles in English, and they don’t care about the inaccuracies (many of them deliberate) that exist in those translations. They fiercely believe those translations come from God, so they must be right – no matter that there are many translations, and they often contradict each other. The danger to trans people comes from this evangelical right that believes the inaccurate translations and forget to love their neighbor.
Sue the S.O.B.s!
Michelle Rogers is scared. She lives in a red state that has passed several laws aimed at oppressing the transgender community. She worries that the laws will interfere with her getting hormones, and block her ability to have GRS. Maybe she will be forced to detransition. Michelle is a conservative but the GOP’s attacks on trans people have her worried. She has pondered what could be done and her suggestion is sue the SOBs.
