As mentioned in the news, the case against Florida’s ban on gender-affirming medical care for minors continues. 18 Attorneys General, all Republicans, have signed onto a brief in that case, which argues that doctors are making money off fake diagnoses of “gender dysphoria” and treatment for that diagnosis. Unfortunately for them, the judge in that case, Robert Hinkle, has declared, “Gender identity is real.” For arguing that a lawyer knows medicine more than a doctor does, and for arguing that genuine doctors are frauds while doctors who, for political reasons, refuse to see transgender patients are more knowledgeable about the diagnosis than are the doctors who actually treat those patients, these attorneys general get a Twit Award. The American College of Pediatricians has formed a splinter group, The Biological Integrity Initiative. The article in The National Catholic Register seems to repeat all the usual statements such as, “Children are always born in the right body,” while ignoring the intersex children who get shoved into a gender category. For putting politics ahead of medicine, the Biological Integrity Initiative gets a Twit Award.

A group of college conservatives at the University of Kentucky has scheduled a showing of Matt Walsh’s anti-transgender diatribe, “What Is A Woman?” Mr. Walsh will himself attend. They have plastered the flier with rainbow flags, and bill him as a “LGBTQIA+ author.” He is straight as well as cis, so none of the letters in the acronym “LGBTQIA+” accurately describe him. For outright lying to the point of fraud, the Young America’s Foundation chapter of the University of Kentucky gets a Twit Award. This story comes from LGBTQ Nation.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has issued an executive order against gender-neutral terminology in official state documents. She describes terms such as “pregnant people” as “woke, anti-women words.” For getting all upset over including people who she wants to marginalize, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders gets a Twit Award. The Advocate has this story.

Sylvia Swayne is a candidate for the Alabama House of Representatives. A filer for one of her political opponents says she has lived in the district less than five years and has received much of her campaign funds from out of state, which are legitimate concerns. However, under that, it says, “Sylvia was born to be a white man and lives as a white woman/transgender.” For using the fact that Sylvia Swayne is a transgender woman as a reason to vote against her, the creator of this flyer gets a Twit Award. This story comes from LGBTQ Nation.
