Bevan’s Rules for Dealing with the TSA

| Nov 4, 2019 | Reply

Before 9/11 flying while trans was not a big deal. If you looked like the photo on your ID and the metal detector didn’t go off you could be through security in a short time. Crossdressers viewed flying en femme as one of their rites of passage. If the flight attendant called you “miss” that made it all the better. But then our nation was attacked by people using airplanes as weapons and the TSA came into being. Things got tougher for all transgender folks with the introduction of body scanners that revealed all. Today Dana Bevan has tips on how to travel while trans the may help you get through the TSC security screening.

What’s In a Name?

Would a rose smell as sweet if it was called a transvestite, a crossdresser, or a transgender person? That’s silly of course but despite the many labels we’ve had for the transgender community all of us knew, some very early and some much later, that we needed something more than living every day in the gender assigned by our birth genitals. Pauline Estelle looks at the many labels from a crossdresser perspective and has an anser to the question, What’s in a Name?

Retro Rerun: Choosing Your Hair

| Sep 9, 2019 | Reply

Our Retro Rerun how-to article is from the TGF Archives of September 1997. The late Roberta Angela Dee, whose advice is like wisdom of the ancients, wrote about the importance of good hair. Some crossdressers keep a ratty old wig in the trunk of their car and plop it on at the hotel were they prepared for a night out. They don’t seem to notice that it bears little resemblance to a cared for coiffure. Take Roberta’s advice on hair piece selection and you will look more authentic when you’re out and about. Consign that ratty old wig to the dumpster.

Crossdressed Lover: I Like It!

| Aug 26, 2019 | Reply

Back in the late 1990s TGForum had a couple who contributed to our content. Vanessa, the crossdresser, and Linda, her partner. They wrote separately and together. A topic they always returned to was couples issues. One of the issues was sex. Many times women look at a crossdressing lover as something to put up with. They may not even want to see their man dressed in women’s clothes, let alone make love with him while he is en femme. Linda Kaye was concerned about what sex would be like with Vanessa. Sex with his male self was great but Linda was dreading the first time with Vanessa. Then Vanessa entered the bedroom and Linda forgot about her concerns. From 1997 we bring you this article from the TGF Archives, I Like It!
