A member of the conservative block in Britain’s Parliament advocates better medical care for trans people. The Lutheran Church installs its first transgender bishop. A Simple Night Out

Texas failed to pass their bill banning trans school kids from athletics, but there’s already a rule in the state that prohibits it. A non-binary person wins bronze in the women’s 100 meter race at the Paralympics. Elliot Page jumps into the music industry with a new album. Hunter Schafer will appear in a horror flick titled Cuckoo. Full Frontal features a segment on trans women who run an alpaca ranch. Because of laws encouraging the hiring of trans people in India and Bangladesh some believe they are being hired due to their gender. China bans effeminate men from television. David de Alba was born and raised in Cuba until his family moved to Chicago in the mid 1960s. A hairdresser who noticed de Alba’s similarity in facial structure to the star Judy Garland made him up to look just like her. Two transgender women of color are teaching at Harvard Law School. Marsha P. Johnson gets a statue in New York City. A Fox News host calls transgender people “satanic”. The ACLU is taking West Virginia to court over its ban on changing birth certificates. More violence is directed against trans women of color. When a school bans BLM or LGBTQ symbols nearby farmers erect a large LGBTQ Progress Pride Flag that can be seen from the school. A trans woman golfer is trying to get into the LPGA. Patti Harrison voices a character in the animated Q-Force series. Eminem’s youngest child is gender-fluid. The “Leave Britney Alone” video creator has come out as trans and changed her name. Despite “LGBTQ free” cities in Poland a recent survey finds the Polish people support LGBTQ people’s right to exist. There’s all that and more waiting for you in TWIT!
A Night at Reggie’s
Julie’s pal Niki was coming through Chicago on her way to a gettogether in Detroit so it presented a great opportunity for Julie to slip into her new black and white mini skirt and show Niki the town. First up on the girl’s night out was Chinatown where Niki and Julie met up with Coleen, Lana and Rubi for dinner. Then it’s off to find some live music. Dina’s Diner 8/23/21
Time to check out the menu at Dina’s Diner! This week Dina has an appetizer made with a couple of complementary ingredients she culled from our TWIT column. One is the multi-year lawsuit over whether a trans woman could use the women’s facility at work. She won. The other is a man who just likes to wear skirts and dresses and is fully supported by his employer. Then Dina visits Reddit and the subreddit for crossdressing. Some of the ladies there are scrumpdillyicious. Then she heats up some strippers protesting a ban against their line of work, seasons it with a woman whose art is recreating the fashion looks of days gone by, and ending with a suggestion for a timely Halloween costume idea.
