The Henri David Halloween Ball 2022 happened on Sunday night October 30. The event has been going since 1975, overseen by the Halloween Impresario, Henry David. Trans kids in Florida who aren’t out to their parents risk having the school administration out them if they want to use the restroom aligned with their gender identity. Chelsea Manning has written a book about her whistle blowing actions. Arkansas’s ban on gender-affirming medical care for minors in being challenged in court. People opposing care for trans minors are ignorant of just what that care consists of. Doctors in Texas are in court asking to be excluded from the gender inclusion in the Affordable Care Act. A study shows that including trans girls in sports doesn’t drive cisgender girls away. Kim Petras debuts her acting chops on Los Espookys. J.K. Project-ing Halloween

Retro Rerun: The Terror of 275
In 1998 TGF Contributor Leah Maclean wrote about her road trip into Omaha to meet some friends for crossdressed fun. That article is our Retro Rerun for today. For some reason Leah was feeling more confident on that trip and stopped several times to browse cosmetics counters looking for a certain color nail polish. She didn’t find the polish but she did have a pleasant adventure in the Heartland.

In Virginia a new bill makes it a felony for parents to not support their transgender children. The Selective Service points out transgender women are eligible for the draft. Will the number of transgender people showing up to vote be contingent on having been able to change their I.D. legally? Trans women get cancer at almost the same rate among cisgender women. England’s NHS has drafted new guidelines for the treatment of trans youth. Their Justice Secretary has announced new guidelines for housing transgender prisoners. Dina Amberle has been hard at work in the Dina’s Diner kitchen and she’s put together a deliciously informative and entertaining menu. First she dishes up a palette clearing treat of trans visibility for people in the know. Then she serves a course of Buddhist monks who give up their robes for designer dresses. That is followed by a course of a 22-year-old online gamer who dolls up to compete. Then comes the main course, an ample serving of staged photographs that count as art. A tasty dessert of game show beaties tops it all off.

Drag Race stars star in a Hocus Pocus-inspired Halloween parody show. Ava Grey’s work on Atlanta received acclaim for her performance as Lorraine. Timothée Chalamet is being lauded as a style icon. Joyland is chosen to represent Pakistan for the 95th Academy Awards in the ‘International Feature Film’ category. And that’s just a bit of the news about transgender people in film and video.

Today we learn that a 15-year-old trans girl is the homecoming princess of her school. Various professional medical organizations have asked the Department of Justice to investigate the people behind threats to hospitals providing gender affirmative care to minors. Oregon is not good about issuing death certificates in the deceased’s true gender. A federal judge rules against the Biden administration’s protecting LGBTQ people in education and employment. While gender-affirming care is still legal for adults is all 50 states lawmakers across the country are starting to consider attacking adult rights. A local TV reporter comes out on the air. Arizona students walk out of class to protest their governor’s anti-trans policies. A transgender officer in the U.S. Army is charged with giving private health records to Russia. Hannah Gadsby will host a Netflix special with genderqueer comics from all over the world. Amy Schneider gets married. California is now a sanctuary state for trans youth and their families. Cubans vote to legalize marriage for LGBTQ+ citizens. Florida’s attempt to deny Medicaid coverage of gender-affirming care for trans youth gets major blowback from medical professional organizations. Thousands of students in Virginia walkout to protest the governor’s treatment of trans students. Cornbread Jeté of Drag Race fame announces she has cancer. Oklahoma’s senate votes to deny state funds to hospitals that treat minors with confirming gender care. Some are just noticing that the WPATH guidelines have dropped an age requirement for treatment letting providers judge whether a patient is mature enough.
