Skincare and Haircare We’re going to take a slight departure from our lessons and focus our attention on skincare. Not long ago, I believed that a good look was comprised of 66% hair, 33% makeup, and 1% “oomph,†the oomph being the little something extra that takes your look over the top. But what if […]

I never thought I would be writing this. After 19 years of publishing LadyLike Magazine, we can no longer afford to put LadyLike on paper. Over the past year, the cost to print LL has steadily risen. The cost to print the January 2008 issue would have been 40% higher than the January 2007 issue. […]

So goes the hypothesis anyway. I’ve heard it from a few people that crossdressers are simply transsexuals without the guts to transition. Unfortunately, those espousing this idea never seem to have any evidence to back it up. Let’s face it: there’s not nearly enough scientific research on any of us.

We’d like to say there was a nefarious plot by a certain gay-rights group that delayed this edition of This Week in Transgenderism, but alas, no. We’d also like to say it was the getting up early for Black Friday that caused the delay, but again: no. Instead, it was, um… aliens. Aliens stole our […]

A few months back I asked why we never get many people making comments on the articles/stories/features/blogs. One problem was the difficulty of making a comment. You had to register to comment and even if you we already logged in to TGF you still had to log in again before you could share your opinion […]

Seriously. Why couldn’t I have a serious, easily recognizable fetish? Sure, I’ve got a thing about gorgeous hair, and a ribbon around a girl’s neck drives me up the wall, but I wonder why I didn’t develop something like a maid’s uniform fetish?

TG Forum is adding some new bloggers! The first new voice on the Forum, Stephanie Yates, says hello in her first TGF Blog. I guess I’m the new girl in town, so an introduction is in order (at least that’s what my editor tells me). I’m Stephanie Yates, married (nearly 24 years, same wonderful, tolerant, […]

Yes, Christmas is still more than a month away, but in the past, I’ve waited too long to present my wish list. Obviously, I released the list too late, because no-one got me anything. So, without further delay: gift ideas for me.

I saw an interesting article about women’s breasts (find me an uninteresting article about women’s breasts – I dare you) on the London Daily Mail website. According to scientific fact, women’s breasts are growing larger from generation to generation. And the sweet thing about the article was that they showed three generations of female family […]

By now, you’ve probably heard that ENDA passed the House of Representatives. It’s now headed for debate in the Senate, and if it passes that Democratically-controlled body, it’s on to the White House for a probable veto. (Read more at the San Francisco Chronicle.) I’m not happy about the removal of “transgender” from the bill, […]

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard about the Hollywood writer’s strike. Well, I’m not going to be one to cross the picket line. No-siree Bob! So, I won’t be blogging today. Matter of fact, I won’t be blogging again until this situation is resolved! I’m no scab!

Hey sports fans! Football season is in full swing, basketball is starting up, and we mention none of it in this edition of TWIT Notes! Instead, we’ve got a tv talk show host who’s TG, the latest on ENDA, a lesson on what methamphetamine will get you, and a laugh from a reader.

Ten years ago this week, I had the opportunity to not only meet JoAnn Roberts, but to sit down and interview her. The plan was to write up the interview for our local support group’s newsletter. But, like many plans, it was set aside, and the cassette tape was forgotten. Until now.

Hi Everyone! I imagine some of you have been out and about in your Halloween costumes for parties and costume parades already since Halloween falls in the middle of the week. There may even be more Halloween themed parties and club nights next weekend. So, if you’ve already had your costume preserved via the wonder […]

The TGF office is dark and lonely this week, as most everyone has taken off for the holidays. But, in one lonely corner cubicle, a little light shines. It’s the light of a writer who didn’t turn in her assignment on time. The sound of an aging typewriter echos across the otherwise quiet room. It […]

A putz is someone who acts like a dick and while most of the time Bill O’Reilly’s dog and pony show on The Fox News Network doesn’t bother me (mostly because I never watch it anymore after I finally noticed that he sucked) I went to visit my family on Sunday and Monday, and Monday […]

In the beginning, there was ENDA. And it was good. The Employment Non-Discrimination Act would prohibit job discrimination based upon sexual orientation and gender identity orientation, or appearance. The head of the Human Rights Campaign said they would not back ENDA without the gender specification. And then it all turned to shit. Pardon my French.

The problem with eBay is it’s just too big. I can’t shop there because I get tired of sorting through pages and pages of stuff that’s not what I’m looking for. Or, I get distracted by other things I’m not looking for, and end up forgetting what it was I was originally hunting.

The chat rooms are dead. Your IM list is empty. No-one is updating their MySpace page. Seems like every year about this time our Internet communities dry up. And why not? By some estimations, at least a quarter of a million crossdressers, transsexuals, drag queens, grrls, shemales, FTM’s, and admirers have descended upon Atlanta. And […]
