Christy Lewis wonders today about how things would have turned out in her life if just one or two things had been different. WIth just one small alteration her life would have been a lot different. My Life as Savannah: Getting Ready for the Ball
The last chapter told us about the process of finding a gown for Savannah to wear to the big formal ball. She is to escorted by a boy she has been hanging out with casually and her dress, hair and makeup have to be perfect for the big night. She has been practicing walking in high heels, maneuvering with poise while managing a floor length skirt, and anticipating the big day. In this chapter she goes to a salon with many of the other girls who will be attending the ball and the big day arrives.

In the seventies and eighties men in makeup were far from the norm. Bands like T-Rex, Kiss or The New York Dolls used it to attract fans but other than showbiz examples only a few fashion designers promoted the idea of men wearing makeup. Fast forward to the present day and thanks to the internet and young people who are more accepting of fashion trends that break the old norms men in makeup are all over the web doing makeup tutorials and demonstrating products on their own faces. Mary and Jazzy Have a Talk
Mary, a lifelong crossdressing snowbird, lives six months of the year full time en femme in a 55+ deed restricted fun loving community in Florida. When family are coming to visit she rents a place in the Orlando area, ‘goes butch’ for a while and everyone has a good time. Today we learn of multiple attempts by state governments to take away transgender rights, banning trans girls from scholastic sports, and forbidding medical treatment to trans children. Sports Illustrated’s Swim Suit issue features a trans woman for the first time. Another trans woman has become the face of Chanel Beauty in its summer ad campaign. Republicans in the Senate treat the Equality Act as if it’s a personal attack on them. Meanwhile more violence against trans women of color occurs. Two Republicans vote with Democrats to advance the nomination of Dr. Rachel Levine as Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services. Trans actress Patti Harrison stars in a film with Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock. Disclosure is snubbed by the Oscars. A trans woman wins the Miss Silver State Pageant USA. Both D.C. and Marvel produce Pride comics for Pride Month. Caitlyn Jenner was the Phoenix on The Masked Singer but was eliminated. My Triggers
Today Kandi writes about the three major “triggers” that led her to dress up. When she was busy and working on a project or a job she didn’t have time to start thinking about what it would be like to wear a dress or high heels. Or both. Three conditions in her life would turn up her crossdressing desires. That was before she accepted herself. It’s TWIT! What do we learn today? A Texas trans woman who won pageants as a drag queen is now advocating for all women’s rights. The President of the United States also is working to protect everyone’s rights, and the majority of the public supports transgender rights but in some areas they are less certain. States continue to introduce and pass legislation restricting transgender rights. More than 500 college athletes sign a letter asking the NCAA to not hold events in states that ban participation by trans women in women’s athletics. New Jersey passes a law banning discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation. The story of Liz Carmichael and her three-wheeled car connects in an unexpected way to Fox News evening host Tucker Carlson. Pop star Halsey declares the pronouns “she/they”. Demi Lovato says they are too queer to date a cisgender man. K-Pop singer Harisu gets attacked on social media and fights back. The Dreamer character from the Supergirl TV show will be introduced into the D.C. comics universe.
