TW: Suicidal Thoughts
Claire Hall knew that the number of transgender people who contemplate suicide is as high as 90 percent. She thought she would be one of the ones in the 10%. And that was true for a good while. Then pressures from her job, tension caused by the pandemic, and personal troubles like a car that died suddenly all conspired to send her to the the ER, and then into counseling for depression that had paved the way for suicidal thoughts.

Ramona spots the other buyer coming in and decides it’s time to powder her nose in the restroom. But there she runs into someone she knows.

Rabbah Rona Matlow says we must do better. Better at educating people about the contributions to society from marginalized communities. She makes the point, just after Juneteenth is made a federal holiday, that many of the contributions of Black people are either accepted without acknowledging the race of the person who contributed or who they were is not mentioned at all.

Finally Out and About
Here comes the sun and the bad old days are done. Well, not entirely but at least the increased vaccinations have made it possible for people, including our Sophie Lynne, to get out and socialise a bit. After a year or more of isolating and distancing it could just be time to have fun again. Sophie blogs about that and how supporting those places that provide social interaction for trans folks is a good idea.

Something seems to be going on behind the scenes but Ramona and two of the businessmen head to another club leaving the guy she’s supposed to get cosy with on his own. They catch a hot act on the jazz scene with a player named Coltrane. Back at the first place Box gets a promise from Cliff. But Cliff wants Ramona in exchange for what he’s promised.

My Life as Savannah: Lunch and Goodbyes
In the last chapter of Savannah’s story we saw her gorgeously attired in a fabulous gown with flawless hair and makeup attending a gala event at the country club. She was escorted by the southern gentleman, Fred who treated her like a southern belle. Today we visit with Savannah the day after the big glamour event. Fred is picking her up to take her to lunch at the club and his parents are coming, too. Then the plan is for Savannah to “return to Atlanta” for the school year.

The Gavin Grimm case is still plodding through the courts. Oregon bans gay and trans panic defenses. Violence against trans people continues. Activists are hard at work. Layshia Clarendon, the WNBA’s first non-binary player, is signed right after their team drops them. Elliot Page shows off his pecs. Demi Lovato talks about being non-binary. Paris Lees has a memoir in bookstores. Hunter Schafer’s minister father explains why Christians should accept trans people as part of God’s creation. Chef Dina has been slaving away over a hot stove at Dina’s Diner, preparing a feast for you.
