Humans have a great capacity to slide into a life rhythm and make themselves believe that things will always be the same. No change day after day. So things that should be said get put off and go unsaid. Past abuses are swept into the dark closets of the mind and forgotten. Except they are always there. But confrontation over the evils of the past can’t happen when the abuser has left the land of the living. Porja was the victim of a father who worked hard, with beatings and lectures, to make her into a man. A futile task that only brought her pain. Her father recently passed away. Porja examines her feelings about this sudden change in the rhythm of her life.

Today we introduce a new voice to TGForum. Meet M, a 17-year-old who identifies as genderfluid. M came out as such to classmates and staff in the ninth grade. She brings a younger voice to TGForum and has benefitted from all the work done by trans activists before she was born. She/he has always felt like a gender outlaw and can present in either gender or none without being bothered by the shape of their genitals. But The Artist D had issues with body image regarding fat. Most of the time our Retro Reruns come from TGForum’s archives but this particular re-run comes from LadyLike magazine, Volume #35, published in1998. JoAnn Roberts was the publisher and I was the editor. As editor I got to write an editorial for each issue. Hopefully people found the topics useful.
