Dating While Trans

| Jul 2, 2018 | Reply

Our agender Youth Correspondent tackles the subject of dating while trans and queer. M prefers they/them as pronouns and that one fact makes it hard to connect with anyone for romance. Once M stepped outside the binary they found barriers. For example an online dating site that lets you pick your gender from a long list but then you have to chose how you want to be labeled in search results and you can only be a boy or a girls. Step into Dating While Trans and see what M ran into.

And they wonder what the world would be like if the people at BDSM convention, furry conventions, and crossdresser conventions could be totally open and display their inner selves during their everyday life. Get The Artist D!’s other thoughts on the subject in “The Magic of the Gatherings.”

| Jun 18, 2018 | Reply

Today Lorraine Anderson, the woman in charge at The Occasional Woman seamstress service, talks about what she saw when she to a party for trans people. She observed attendees who were otherwise well dressed as women walking like guys. Shoulders were hunched forward and high heel shod feet were planted apart. Then there were the body language errors she observed while attendees were sitting down. Lorraine will go into everything in much more detail and if your goal is to be accepted as a woman in public you should make note of what she says. As a bonus we include a video of a group of men who are trying to walk in high heels for the first time. It illustrates some of Lorraine’s comments.

Anxiety in the Sun

Amanda had been taking Cymbalta to deal with her anxiety problem. Sometimes the drug would make her feel sleepy and other times she would experience a bit of depression. Concerned with these side effects Amanda sought information and came across a Cymbalta support group online. They convinced her to do something she now admits was stupid. Following their sage counsel she decided to stop taking her medicine. She tapered off the dose slowly, even opening the capsule and weighing the grains to take less and less. Now she is in the grip of anxiety again and it is stopping her from following the plan she made to leave California and return to the East. Get more of the details in her blog, Anxiety in the Sun.

Writing. Will it Save The World?

| Jun 4, 2018 | Reply

Do you recall a time when no one except the fringe members of society had piercings and tattoos? Remember when “punks” listened to punk rock music and wore mohawk hair styles, and put safety pins everywhere? Even through their noses. Now it’s 2018 and depending where you live you are likely to see a lot more body art and piercing. While people still gasp at shocking modifications like large holes in cheeks and screw-in horns, for the most part no one notices the pierced lip, pierced nose or eyebrow. Today M, our youth correspondent, talks about writing. What M hopes for is a day when LGBTQ people are not noticed anymore than a tongue piercing or two earrings on a dude. A day when all the young LGBTQ writers grow up and write about LGBTQ issues and desires.

Tell Your Girlfriend, But Don’t Tell Your Wife

| Jun 4, 2018 | Reply

Cassie feels that it’s best to never tell your wife that you spend time away from her dressing in women’s clothes. All those “business” trips should remain strictly business trips and your wife doesn’t need to know about you releasing your feminine side in public. While “honesty is the best policy” Cassie feels that honesty is overrated and it’s more likely to lead to heartache than relief from the guilt you feel over sneaking around behind your wife’s back. But, if you’re not married yet Cassie recommends that you tell your girlfriend about your femme pursuits. What is her rational for these bits of advice? Read on and find out.

I’m Back in the Closet

Susan was a mature crossdresser years ago. Which would make her an old crossdresser now. Time takes its toll, and it isn’t easy. But crossdressing never was. Dressing at her age is much like taking an old hi performance car out for a spin. She is cruising along taking it easy with the old machine thinking “this thing is running really well for its age.” Then at a stop light a sleek new Corvette pulls up. The driver and occupant look over, race the engine and giggle. Is that why Susan’s back in the closet?

Princesas de la Noche — “ El Piropo”

Catcalling is a cross cultural thing. In Bogota it is called El Piropo which translates as “the flattery.” Very few of the ladies so addressed appreciate the “compliments.” Our correspondent in Bogota writes about her experience with El Piropo and includes a newvideo.

On behalf of a trans friend who wanted to begin transition The Artist D! began to make inquiries in her town about where to go for hormone therapy and eventual gender confirmation surgery. Believing that her city was one of the bigger, more progressive areas in the USA D expected things to proceed fairly quickly in the search for information. Apparently their expectations were too high. It seems The Artist D!’s “big city” is not as well informed about transgender issues as they thought. Which leaves D wondering what trans people in really remote small towns do for medical care.

Autogynephilia Revisited

| Apr 23, 2018 | Reply

Autogynephilia is a term created by Dr. Ray Blanchard. It purports to be a motivation for males to go to great lengths, even gender reassignment surgery, so they can see themselves as women. Blanchard claims that this is sexually driven. That rather than seeing another human or some object as a sexual fetish the male who has autogynephilia becomes his own sexual fetish. Many in the transgender community vehemently object to this idea as it reduces their need to express themselves in their true gender to nothing more than a paraphilia. Dr. Dana Bevan is one who has scoffed at the theory. Today she scoffs again while revisiting the subject.
