West Coast Adventures
In my last essay I described my early adventures as Kimberly out and about here on the West Coast. It took me a few months to develop a routine of getting out of the house and experiencing a couple of hours, or several hours as a woman, followed by the interesting logistical challenge of returning home without attracting undue attention to myself. The first few months in California were at once a bit stressful but also very rewarding and exhilarating.
In those early days I was occasionally laughed at, I think because I tended to overdress and also because I had not yet mastered the skilled makeup process needed to mask beard shadow and also create a realistic looking feminine face (more on how I learned to do that in a subsequent essay). As time wore on I figured out the makeup steps better and better, and began to tone down the way I dressed so that I didn’t look like an office lady everywhere I went. I still adore that look but would not recommend overdoing it if you are trying to be passable.
By creating a Kimberly profile on a couple of websites and posting a few photos, I found that folks in the local TG community gravitated to me and wanted to meet up. It’s always good to exercise caution online, but I have met some great people in person who I initially met online.
There are few things as pleasant and enjoyable as being treated as a woman, and I have been able to experience them because I created my own look after doing some research, practiced in private, and got out the door. I encourage you to give it a try if you have not done so already!
