The Transgender Film Center is giving grants to trans filmmakers. RuPaul does a limited series on YouTube for the holidays. A long list of female celebrities have signed an open letter decrying discrimination against trans women. Legendary drag queens have taken their holiday show online. Finland may be changing the rules on transgender citizens. A court in Hungary has asked for a review of the law that would have erased trans and non-binary people. The saying goes, “Let a smile be your umbrella.” While it’s not normal to go around smiling all the time the smile is a tool in women’s tool kit that they use to deal with social situations. It certainly works much better than not making eye contact, staring at the floor while you mumble something. Today Kandi elaborates on one of her important rules — be confident. That means when you go to an event don’t be shy. Don’t act like you’re nervous or worried that people might “read” you. Just look them in the eye, smile and say hello. Of course during the pandemic you have to convey the smile using only your eyes, but once we get through with the virus be sure to utilize those pearly whites.

The North Carolina restroom law expires on December 1. There have been a number of trans politicians elected around the world. The list of deceased trans women grew as the Transgender Day of Remembrance came and went. Several trans people made the Out 100 list. IBM formally apologized to Lynn Conway for firing her 52 years ago. Dr. Rachel Levine may be the next Surgeon General. CNN reports that one in ten trans people self prescribe hormones. More trans and non-binary characters appear on TV. A nonbinary version of The Flash called Kid Quick comes to the comics. Sam Smith talks about being ridiculed when they came out as non-binary. Billy Porter will direct a trans teen love story. One of the Real Housewives of Orange County learns on the show that her 14-year-old son is a drag queen.
