Metamorphosis, Part 9
In Chapter 8 Raquel and Mark are safe after the old witch has saved them from the flying monsters. Now they are hiding in a cave and the old woman has told them they were transported to this strange land by a person known as the Magistrate. She also says that Mark shouldn’t be there. He is there due to the interference of the Magistrate. They must trek to the north and battle the Magistrate but one of them will not survive the confrontation. What are the true intentions of the old witch? Is she on their side? Or is talk of this Magistrate nothing but lies? Find out in Chapter 9 of Metamorphosis.
What is Vocal Feminization Surgery?
Today speech therapist Marc Mitnick discusses throat surgery to raise vocal pitch and achieve a feminine voice. For some it is a last resort after vocal exercises fail to produce the desired result. There are different types of procedures that change pitch by shortening or thinning the vocal cords. Marc takes a look at two procedures.
David de Alba on Stage in Vegas
David de Alba is that last performing female impersonator from the legendary Finocchio’s in San Francisco. In honor of David’s birthday on May 20 we present three videos of his gift to his fans, his August 2016 show in Las Vegas. David sings as Liza and his own stage character Boy Chic. What do we learn in The Week In Trans for May 1? RuPaul’s Drag Con happened last weekend. Bill Nye, The Science Guy, explains gender with ice cream. “3 Generations” has gotten a PG-13 rating. A study says trans vets are better off than those who did not serve. Another study has info on children who are trans. Anonymous fliers impugn a trans candidate’s gender. A woman in New Zealand went male, then detransitioned. A Vietnamese trans man has won a TV singing competition. A trans activist in El Salvador wins an award. The Wildside is still transforming people in Toronto. A look back at David Duchovny as Denise in “Twin Peaks.” All that, a few TWIT Awards and a bit more, can all be found in today’s TWIT!
2017 Fashion Trends I love
Our Fashion Mavin Tasi Zuriack talks about her favorite fashion trends for 2017. Tasi lives in Mexico and she talks about how the ladies in her city in the Yucatan are fashion forward and as such are a good indication of what the ladies in the USA will be wearing in the coming months. Thanks to her celebrity status before transitioning she is possibly the most visible and influential trans figure who regularly gets media attention. While seeing a trans person being interviewed on television is encouraging in that it normalizes the presence of trans people to the general public, on the other hand, do we really want one person’s voice to drown out the voices of many other trans people? One Friday night the worst thing possible happens: one of the ladies is suddenly stricken with debilitating pain. The only thing for the crossdressed crew to do it take her to the hospital. It’s time for The Week In Trans! Today we learn there is a new film that investigates the death under suspicious circumstances of trans activist Marsha P. Johnson. Gavin Grimm is an influential person for 2017. Heineken beer uses a trans woman in an ad. The TSA has a video for trans travelers. More stories about trans student treatment and some restroom law suits. Trans candidates are running for office in England and Canada. It looks like the NCAA will be going back to North Carolina. The Human Rights Campaign has created a website specifically to repudiate the views of Dr. Paul McHugh. Tomboys are not trans. Are We in Danger of Alabamafication?

For a long time Cate O’Malley tried to be a good trans person and educate the unenlightened about trans issues. She would answer their questions, even the awkward ones, in hopes that she was helping to spread awareness of what life for trans people was like, and hopefully, make some other trans people’s lives easier. India Willoughby has apologized to the people she offended when she said they should stay out of the ladies’ room. Johns Hopkins is doing GRS again after 38 years. Metamorphosis, Part 8
In Chapter 7 Mark and Raquel had almost crossed the mysterious lake when they were attacked by strange flying animals of monstrous visage. They fought the beast with the boat’s oars but would have perished had it not been for the intervention of the strange old woman who summoned thunder and lightning to destroy the flying monsters. The witch promised to tell them what was going on and who sent the beasts to attack them. What will happen in this chapter? Only one way to learn and that’s to read Part 8 of Metamorphosis.
