Today she has word that the filmmakers responsible for the panned action movie The Assignment, in which a male assassin is transformed into a woman as punishment for his actions, are saying it doesn’t have anything to do with transgender people since the character isn’t trans. Time for Trans People to Stand Up and Show Up
June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month and there will be several events around the country that focus on trans people. Our political correspondent Babs Casbar Siperstein has good advice when she says it’s time to stand up and show up. Most of the legislators who are busy passing restroom bills have never met a trans person. That makes June the perfect time to get out there, be seen, and if possible meet the legislators. Babs has some info on some events at the national and state level.

It turns out that Linda, a self described “closeted crossdresser” loves the stress. The Week In Trans 5/22/17
It’s time for The Week In Trans! Today we learn that a neo-Nazi group attacked a trans cartoonist’s Facebook page. A trans woman is approved to file a lawsuit under the Americans With Disabilities Act. A contestant on The Bachelorette is in hot water for a transphobic remark. Masculine Chinese girls have formed a “boy” band. Changes may be in store to update Britain’s Gender Recognition Act. A school in London will allow boys to wear skirts. If they have the legs for it, why not? Chelsea Manning is a free woman and we finally have an updated photo of her. Many are wondering if the deadline for including trans troops in the military will be honored. There are changes to laws concerning gender in several place. How are the Non-Transsexual Transgender People Faring?
A non-transsexual transgender person is someone who leads a double life, presenting as their birth gender for much of the time but expressing their “secret” gender whenever they can. Statistics tell us that there are at least 10 times more non-transsexual transgender people (non-TS TG) than transsexuals so today Dana Bevan talks about the issues faced by the non-TS TG and discusses ways to offer support that addresses those issues.

JoAnn Roberts was the publisher and I was the editor. As editor I got to write an editorial for each issue. Hopefully people found the topics useful. While taking a look at the Digital Transgender Archive I found this issue and decided to bring back the editorial. I think it can still be useful to crossdressers in 2017 so here it comes again.

So you found the perfect little floral print spring dress and it’s, heaven’s to Betsey, in your size. You love everything about it from the tiny flower pattern to the cut, and the flouncy skirt. And to make it even better it’s clearance priced! You take it home, without trying it on since using the changing room in the lady’s department makes you nervous, and learn that “little” is right. It’s too tight. Even though it is your size it’s either mislabelled or just “runs small.” Fit is very important. If you’re worried about popping buttons, or if you can’t raise your arms you’re won’t make a great impression. Today Lorraine Anderson talks about the importance of fit.

Dina’s Diner has rolled out the new spring menu and there are some tasty treats to be had. Of the regular fare on offer you can’t go wrong with Dina’s own recipe for Exclusionary Stew. She takes anti-trans rants about trans women not being “real” women, mixes in some blame game spices, and cooks it up till it’s done.
