And the proprietress, chef, and hostess, Dina Amberle, always has a fresh dish cooking in the back. No matter what your tastes run to Dina has something savory to satisfy. Today she offers up a few specials. There’s the controversy over former members of male teams who now identify as females competing with cisgender females. Then a compote of info on those who had show biz careers in one gender then transitioned to have more success as their true selves. Last episode we were all prepared for the final confrontation between the nameless butcher who was the instrument of torture for the shadowy entities in the weird dimension and the two women he had kidnapped. As he prepared to begin carving their living flesh with his chainsaw an object landed in the Savoring Chamber, apparently provided by the rulers of that strange realm. Even the torturer was puzzled. As he asked if they wanted him to use the newly materialize bat to torture Kay and Natalie, Kay made a decision.

In our last episode the chainsaw wielding maniac had entered the savoring chamber with his tools of horror. We learned that his mutilation of humans in service to his shadowy overlords was meant to raise him to their level and he would enjoy eternal life. But just as he raised his chainsaw to begin his last triumph of human flesh carving the entities lurking outside the chamber threw a bat into the mix. As he tried to understand what this meant Kay began to understand that it could mean her and Natalie’s lives.

Some of her ingredients in today’s fare includes a trans woman who went from wearing frilly clothes, heels and makeup to being comfortable with herself in no makeup and more androgynous clothes. Then she stirs in several paragraphs on the male geishas of Japan, blends in some dish on a man who gave up med school to make copies of all of Madonna’s video costumes so he could wear them, and spices it all up with the inspiration she found in What’s My Line? and an experiment that put men into women’s bathing suits. Above them malevolent shades peer down into the cage, for it is a cage, that holds them. Natalie warns Kay that there is no escape. As the murky darkness dwellers above them watch all Kay and Nat can do is cling to one another and wait for what’s to come.

But, she has found her in some strange dimension where the landscape is a labyrinth of corridors and a crazed monster with sharp instruments does vivisection on live people. Natalie is in some sort of illuminated space, which appears empty except for her. As Kay rushes to embrace her Natalie seems to reject her with a cry of “No!” Kay feels hurt but only for a moment. Several months have passed since Mary Jo talked her husband Tom into attending the the Kentucky Lady’s Association Gala as Claire. It turned out that Tom didn’t need to worry that anyone would realize he was Claire. In fact Claire was the belle of the ball. Of course being five foot five in his stocking feet meant Claire was sized about the same as all the other ladies, and with her tightly laced corset she looked fabulous in both her modern cocktail dress and her vintage gown. Mary Jo had told the woman who put the ball together about Claire’s collection of vintage dresses and corsets. When another major gala is planned Mary Jo is asked if Claire could attend and model those vintage dresses. Tom has taken on more responsibility in his father’s business and is reluctant to be a model at such a public event. Of course, Mary Jo talks him into it.
