Today Kandi writes about the three major “triggers” that led her to dress up. When she was busy and working on a project or a job she didn’t have time to start thinking about what it would be like to wear a dress or high heels. Or both. Three conditions in her life would turn up her crossdressing desires. That was before she accepted herself. Now she dresses as she please when she pleases and writes about what it was like in the old days when she could be triggered.
Many members of the crossdressing community are heterosexual and feel that their crossdressing nature will not allow them to have a completely honest relationship with a woman. Some dress in secret for years and their wives never know what all those business trips were really about. Others find out the wrong way and the couple splits up. Today Kandi Robbins posts a letter to all the wives of crossdressers asking on behalf of all crossdressers for understanding.
Kandi doesn’t believe she “passes” when she interacts with the larger community but she appreciates it when those she interacts with, whether in church, out shopping, or dining out, refer to her as “her” and “she”. She always feels a thrill when she hears those words used to describe her.
Kandi offers the advice today the TGF has counseled for years: Don’t be afraid to be visible. Don’t take chances and go to places that might be dangerous, but don’t worry about what the general public thinks. If you act nervous and shy people will wonder what’s wrong with you. The saying goes, “Let a smile be your umbrella.” While it’s not normal to go around smiling all the time the smile is a tool in women’s tool kit that they use to deal with social situations. It certainly works much better than not making eye contact, staring at the floor while you mumble something. Today Kandi elaborates on one of her important rules — be confident. That means when you go to an event don’t be shy. Don’t act like you’re nervous or worried that people might “read” you. Just look them in the eye, smile and say hello. Of course during the pandemic you have to convey the smile using only your eyes, but once we get through with the virus be sure to utilize those pearly whites.
