After hiding her female identity through grade school Brielle met a boy in high school who liked her for herself. She could be a girl with him and they could go on dates and do the things that a boy and a girl are inclined to do. But being open about her gender also made her the target of school bullies who never need much of a trigger to attack. Seeing a fellow student they recognized as male wearing makeup and feminine clothing was more than enough to attract their bad intentions. Once again depression took hold of Brielle. And perhaps the treatment was worse than the condition.

Humans have a great capacity to slide into a life rhythm and make themselves believe that things will always be the same. No change day after day. So things that should be said get put off and go unsaid. Past abuses are swept into the dark closets of the mind and forgotten. Except they are always there. But confrontation over the evils of the past can’t happen when the abuser has left the land of the living. Porja was the victim of a father who worked hard, with beatings and lectures, to make her into a man. A futile task that only brought her pain. Her father recently passed away. Today we introduce a new voice to TGForum. Meet M, a 17-year-old who identifies as genderfluid. M came out as such to classmates and staff in the ninth grade. She brings a younger voice to TGForum and has benefitted from all the work done by trans activists before she was born. This group is primarily composed of crossdressers but also contains a few men who only dress in lingerie under their male attire. Jeffrey Marsh is a gender fluid, gender queer trans activist, writer, and all around nice person. Jeffrey is know as the anti-bully. Jeffrey’s book How To Be You was published in August of 2106. Sophie is concerned that her generation of trans people has not succeeded in clearing the way for the younger generations of trans people. Progress was being made and recognition and respect was being earned and then a change of administration shifted the federal stance on transgender right from positive to negative. Sophie writes about two encounters she had while at work that demonstrate the success of the work that has been done and the need for continued work.
