Raquel and Mark, seemingly two parts of one person separated after drinking a strange potion, have been transported to another land, possibly another world. There they confront “the Magistrate” who is apparently responsible for their condition. In a house that is a duplicate of their childhood home Raquel meets her “mother” and then her “father.” Then she finds herself in a horrid swamp confronted Guug, an ogre who tries to protect her from wolves. Raquel “becomes the light” vanquishes the wolves, and her friend Lydia appears. Memories return and this world with the horrid swamp and the creatures seem to be a variant of the real world.
