I’m Back in the Closet
Susan was a mature crossdresser years ago. Which would make her an old crossdresser now. Time takes its toll, and it isn’t easy. But crossdressing never was. Dressing at her age is much like taking an old hi performance car out for a spin. She is cruising along taking it easy with the old machine thinking “this thing is running really well for its age.” Then at a stop light a sleek new Corvette pulls up. The driver and occupant look over, race the engine and giggle. Is that why Susan’s back in the closet?

It’s time for The Week In Trans! Today we learn that Jess Herbst lost her bid for mayor of New Hope, Texas. The U.S. Bureau of Prisons has dropped the rule that trans prisoners should be housed according to their gender identity. The trans asylum seekers in the “caravan” from Central America are finally being processed. Pakistan passes a gender rights bill. Much hoopla on Channel 4 in Britain with an on-air debate about trans people’s right to exist. Caitlyn Jenner says President Trump has set back trans progress “twenty years.” The debate about trans women being “real” women is going on at the BBC. Brazil’s Miss BumBum contest will feature two trans women this year. When asked about attempts to remove protection for trans people written into the ACA the Health and Human Services chief said he wasn’t familiar with that issue. People in Massachusetts are fighting to preserve the rights of trans people. Danica Roem talks about her first session with the Virginia House of Delegates. Definitions
Sophie talks about identity today. In the past she had defined herself according the various roles she played in her life. She was a loner, a Penn Stater, a frat guy, a husband, a drunk, and none of those roles really reflected her core identity. Then in 2008 her hidden inner identity burst out. Do you have sexy, curvaceous legs? Then always be sure to showcase them with shorter length skirts and short shorts. Is you derriere ample? Tight, light colored skirts will draw the eye. Princesas de la Noche — “ El Piropo”
Catcalling is a cross cultural thing. Whether it’s from construction workers in New York City or from men lounging on the street corners in Bogota there are always those “gentlemen” who will indulge in making loud comments on the attractive qualities of women walking by. In Bogota it is called El Piropo which translates as “the flattery.” Very few of the ladies so addressed appreciate the “compliments.” Our correspondent in Bogota writes about her experience with El Piropo and includes a newvideo.

Step right up! It’s time for all the trans news that’s fit to print. We call it The Week In Trans. Today we learn that the trans woman responsible for writing the code letting us send email attachments was profiled in an online publication. The Senate of New Hampshire has passed a non-discrimination bill to protect trans people in that state. The woman running for mayor in Texas will not be the first trans elected official there. Ada Vox was eliminated from America Idol and some believe it’s because she sang in drag. The Teacher of the Year trolled Donald Trump with a trans equality button as he handed her the award. Results from some studies of trans people. All that and much more plus a few TWIT Awards are waiting for you to read your TWIT!

What’s cooking down at Dina’s Diner this week? Dina has several special items on the menu. Learn about the Japanese reliving the ’80s with tiara wearing “Princess Parties.” Then she stirs in a soupçon of the the phenomenon of androgynous models and wonders aloud if the thrill is gone, or if the models are still there but no longer shocking. Then she blends equal portions of the appeal of large hoop earrings and the “first pitch girls” of South Korea. She rounds it all off with the attraction of beautiful, professional, and intelligent television presenters. It’s all ready to be served up hot and spicy down at Dina’s Diner.

Girl About to Be Born
In around twenty nine days Claire will “go public” with her new gender presentation. She is excited to cast off the persona that was holding her down and anxious to enter the waters of women world. She has already come out to a few select people in her life and they are for the most part either supportive or indifferent. One of her female friends remarked that as much as Claire enjoyed the trappings of femininity that wasn’t what makes a woman a woman. Claire thought it over and shares her opinion on that in today’s blog post.
Making Friends While Agender
For some people making friends is easy. They just fall into place in their lives and are often friends for life. For others, such as transgender or agender people, things may not be so simple.
