Ladyboys — In All Shapes and Sizes!
Whenever our Correspondent in Thailand, Christine Burr, gets foreign visitors they all have one thing they simply must see, ladyboys. So Christine dutifully takes them to one of the upscale ladyboy cabaret shows that feature the most beautiful and feminine ladyboys. Remembering Virginia Prince
Virginia Prince was one of the first pioneers of the modern era of crossdressing. She was not afraid to go on television shows in the ’60s to discuss the concept of men wearing women’s clothing. She published the first crossdressing magazine, Transvestia, and she founded Tri-Ess. She also was homophobic, denied transsexuals entry to Tri-Ess and was an opinionated old curmudgeon. She even made a transphobic remark during the campaign but won the election. She apologized for what she said but it seems that most of the North Carolina Democrats were okay with it. Culture Change for TSTG Issues
Every week we make more progress in acceptance of trans people and more and more localities amend their human rights anti-discrimination laws to add protections for trans people. But while this goes on in the legislative bodies and the courts are charged with enforcement we still hear of incidents of violence and discrimination against us. What can we do to change that? The Purge
Cate O’Malley hasn’t turned into a movie reviewer over the last month. The “purge” she writes about today is the one that the vast majority of trans people have experienced, not the movie about one day dedicated to lawless chaos. In the the trans purge the remorseful TG vows to give up their cross gender activities and throws out all traces of our other gender. Left Behind
The weekend before last Sophie Lynne wanted to get out to have fun with her trans sisters at a local TG gathering spot. But snow arrived and icy road thwarted her desires.
