“INVASION OF THE D” a Huge Success!

invasion3Following the fun of the Erie Gala in late November, a number of girls who attended thought it would be great to regroup ‘west’ in Detroit. Organized by Samantha Rogers, the January 10th weekend brought together girls from seven states, who braved the single digit cold and snow, for a great time none will forget.

Some arrived on Friday, for socializing, dinner, or just chilling (literally, brrrr) together at a local bar or club. Saturday began with shopping at the local malls. As more girls arrived, the Adam’s Apple on Warren Ave became THE place to be! Recently purchased and co-owned by Jaye Marie and Michelle Franklin, the Adam’s Apple offers a relaxing, warm, and safe atmosphere for the community and their admirers (that is, If you can find the entrance — it’s in the back). Adam’s Apple is a ‘must stop’ if you’re ever in Detroit.

invasion2invasion4Around 11, it was time to head about a mile down the street to Gigi’s for a night of dancing and more fun. Closing time arrived way too fast. Saying our goodbyes, many were looking forward to First Event or to Keystone, or to wherever we might get together once again. Perhaps the next “Invasion of the D.”
