The American Academy of Pediatrics expresses its continuing support for gender-affirming medicine for minors. The U.K. publishes new guidelines for reporting on sex and gender identity. Quakers in Britain sign a pledge to stand with transgender people. Suzy Eddie Izzard announces her candidacy for Labour MP from Brighton Pavilion. A three-judge panel of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals rules that transgender students in Indiana must be allowed to use the restroom matching their gender identity. Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union move out of Florida. A trans student in Missouri sues her former school district, for making her use the boys’ restroom or the school’s one single-person restroom. A drag queen in Key West runs for the Florida House of Representatives. Michigan bans conversion therapy on children. School administrators rebel against Virginia’s trans student guidelines. Two trans patients sue Vanderbilt University Medical Center for giving their records to the state attorney general. The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government held a hearing on “The Dangers and Due Process Violations of ‘Gender-Affirming Care’ for Minors.” No doctors spoke at the hearing. Democrats in the House introduce legislation that would rewrite many laws to make them gender-neutral. Dylan Mulvaney celebrates 500 days of girlhood. Two teachers in Texas go to a drag show and get fired after sharing photos on social media. Over 100 trans men sign up for the Miss Italy pageant when they learn it is only open to “born women.” In a state under conservative control one town declares itself a sanctuary city. Pope Francis told a young transgender person, “”God loves us as we are.” The Associated Press tries to learn just how many transgender people live in the USA. We are the sum of our experiences and it’s memory that lets us hold on to all the experiences, good and bad, that we have in the course of a lifetime. When young humans get to be old humans the cliche is that memory fails us. That’s true for some while others remain sharp. Then there are some who can tell you what they had to eat on one day while they were 13-years-old, but can’t remember if they took their medications in the here and now. What’s happening the news? Former collegiate swimmer and transgender activist Lia Thomas is back in the news scaring conservatives. A U.S. district court judge grants an injunction barring Arizona from forbidding transgender females from women’s sports. Louisiana legislators override the governor’s veto in a special session. The Virginia Department of Education releases its guidance on how schools should deal with transgender students. There were three times as many hate crimes against LGBTQ people this year during Pride month compared to last year. Rachel Levine rattles conservatives by talking about the “wrong puberty.” Paramount studios creates a school for trans actors in Israel. More that 30,000 trans people and allies attend Trans Pride in Brighton. Miss Major Griffin-Gracy is 80 years old and a veteran of the Stonewall riots. She is calling on transgender people to get active, peacefully, in opposition to the anti-trans laws being passed. A young trans man creates a Build A Queer kit in response to Florida’s anti-trans laws. Charles Barkley uses strong language to rebuke the haters on the right. An Indian actor known for his tough guy roles slips into a sari and glamor makeup to portray a trans woman. It’s chaos on the set of Celebrity Family Feud as Willam Belli pulls a banana out of her wig and shocks host Steve Harvey. The original crew of queens on We’re Here aren’t there anymore. Mistranslations and Deliberate Inaccuracies

The Christian community in the U.S. reads their bibles in English, and they don’t care about the inaccuracies (many of them deliberate) that exist in those translations. They fiercely believe those translations come from God, so they must be right – no matter that there are many translations, and they often contradict each other. The danger to trans people comes from this evangelical right that believes the inaccurate translations and forget to love their neighbor.

She worries that the laws will interfere with her getting hormones, and block her ability to have GRS. Maybe she will be forced to detransition. A lawsuit seeks to have the Texas ban on gender-affirming care for minors overturned. More legal maneuvers continue on both sides. A trans woman is running for a seat in the New York Assembly. The Union Cycliste Internationale announced this week that it will not allow transgender females to compete as females. Non-binary actor Bella Ramsey is nominated for an Emmy award in the Best Actress category. Wait times of five years to get a first appointment with a gender specialist are common in Britain. Portland, Oregon renames a downtown square for a local drag icon. Russia outlaws gender reassignment surgery. While many transgender people are leaving Florida others chose to stay and fight on. First up, the news. A Venezuelan trans woman is competing for the title of Miss Venezuela. Several governors have vetoed anti-trans bills and many such pieces of legislation are blocked by judges. The Supreme Court turns down a case in which an appeals court ruled transgender people are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Acquaintance with Delaware State Senator Sarah McBride influenced President Biden’s views on trans rights. 95% of transgender employees have experienced negative behavior from colleagues. A recent study shows that most people know very little about gender-affirming care. The Guinness Book of World Records recognized Lucy Clark as the first openly-transgender football (soccer) referee in the world. Hari Nef talks about her role in Barbie. The United Nations creates a pilot program to raise awareness of gender identity. The winner of the Mrs. America pageant is a trans woman from Michigan. One-fifth of the congregations in the United Methodist Church of the United State are about to leave the denomination, over concerns about LGBTQ+ issues.
