Lia Thomas

Former collegiate swimmer and transgender activist Lia Thomas has once again made conservative’s heads explode. This time for posting a photo on Instagram that shows her wearing a tank top with “Antifa Super Soldier” printed on it. ABC News has the story.

A U.S. district court judge granted an injunction barring the state of Arizona from enacting its law that forbids transgender females from playing women’s sports. KOLD-TV has this story.

Louisiana legislators met in special session, where they voted to override the veto by Governor John Bel Edwards of a ban on gender-affirming care for minors. This story comes from the Associated Press.

Admiral Levine

Admiral Rachel Levine has spoken out defending gender-affirming care for minors. She points out that the results of providing gender-affirming care are evidence based. She also tried to get across the idea that it is bad for a transgender child to go through the “wrong puberty.” If viewed from that perspective it’s apparent that gender-affirming care does not harm a child while denying it does. When Ananey Studios was unable to find a transgender actress to cast in a series they wanted to film, their parent company, Paramount Studios, created an acting school specifically for transgender students. Variety says that it is the first school for transgender actors in Israel.

The Guardian reports that a disagreement among leaders in Parliament has delayed a guidance on transgender students in British schools.

Miss Major Griffin-Gracy

Miss Major Griffin-Gracy is 80 years old and a veteran of the Stonewall riots. She is calling on transgender people today to get active, peacefully, in opposition to the laws that are being passed with restrict the rights of transgender people. She gave an interview to The 19th.

One person who is taking some action against the laws that limit transgender rights in Cielo Sunsarae. He started the Queer Trans Project in 2021, and is now giving out “Build A Queer” kits. LGBTQ Nation has this story.

A new poll for Newsweek finds that nearly half of those ages 25-34 think that it should be a criminal offense to deliberately misgender someone.

Austin Killips

Austin Killips, 27, is the first openly transgender female to win an official UCI stage race.  She is not happy about the organization’s ban on trans women competitors. Killips expressed her frustration on SubStack saying a “cabal of right wingers” are behind the ban on trans athletes in women’s races. Learn more from The New York Post.

Satire is a form of humor that is tricky to use. It’s all too easy for a satirical joke to be accepted as fact by people who don’t get it. That’s what’s occurred in the case of a Facebook video purporting to be an announcement by the Disney corporation that the company was going to create new pediatric clinics for trans kids. The “executive” was actually conservative comedian Mark Dice. He attended several California city council meetings to make the “announcement” look real. Since Dice is a conservative it’s reasonable to assume that he is trying to stir the anger pot when people take it seriously. Get the whole story from USA Today.
