This is Lynda’s last blog for a while. She is taking a break to have her gender confirmation surgery done in just a few weeks. She will be taking bed rest and healing for several weeks after the surgery. (Anyone want to run errands for her while she’s recuperating?) Today she asks herself why she wants to have a vagina. A few weeks ago Lynda Martini got a message from someone on Facebook proposing that they get together when this out-of-town girl was in Philly for a conference. Lynda thought “What’s this?” but after corresponding with this lady from Chicago she agreed to go out on the town with her. It turns out the out-of-towner had done her research and found several places outside the usual gayborhood haunts were two ladies could have some fun. Lynda Martini recounts a road trip to the Washington, D.C. area that gave her a chance to listen to a band called Swamp Poodle, have some good food and a few glasses of Prosseco, then see the world premier of a short form documentary film titled The Makeover. The film is about Lynda’s friends, Giselle and Beth. They met when Giselle wanted a male to female makeover and went to Beth, a noted makeup person. One thing led another and they fell in love, Giselle transitioned and two filmmakers followed them around for a few years. Join Lynda as she hangs out with the stars.
