As we said in the news, the Department of Health and Human Services has abandoned its plan to deny Medicare and Medicaid coverage to hospitals and clinics which perform gender-affirming care. As that was happening, HHS announced that it was rolling back a rule which protects LGBTQ foster children from being placed with foster parents who do not respect their gender identities or sexual orientations. For setting foster children up for abuse over such a part of who they are as their gender identity or sexual orientation, the Department of Health and Human Services gets a TWIT. The Advocate has this story.
This week, J.K. Rowling posted to her X account a picture of a transgender woman, which showed up her skirt. She invited the transgender woman to debate her. In the caption, she deliberately misgendered the trans woman. Her caption also demonstrates that she knows about the revealing nature of the photo. For a lack of feminine modesty, and for deliberately misgendering, J.K. Rowling gets a TWIT. This story comes from PinkNews.
During a hearing in the U.S. House of Representatives, Republicans kept pressing medical school leaders on the use of the term “pregnant people,” rather than “pregnant women.” Representative Randy Fine said that it was “insane” to say that men could get pregnant. For putting their prejudice on display, Representative Randy Fine and other Republicans get a TWIT. LGBTQ Nation has this story.
This week, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced that a check of the testosterone level will be given to all men in the military who are over the age of 29. Those men whose testosterone level is low will be given the option of receiving testosterone supplements. When Secretary Hegseth announced the ban on transgender people in the military, he said that gender-affirming care would cost too much, yet here he is, providing the same treatment for men with low levels of testosterone. For hypocrisy, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth gets a TWIT. This story comes from The Advocate.
