The U.S. House of Representatives voted this week to reject an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act which would have forbidden transgender people from serving in the armed forces. Four Republicans voted with the Democrats to defeat the amendment. The Hill has this story.

A federal judge has officially rejected the Department of Justice’s request to dismiss the lawsuit seeking to restore the early retirement offer to transgender people in the Air Force. This story comes from The Advocate.

A federal judge has asked the Department of Defense for more information on how it feels it is all right to offer testosterone supplements to cisgender male troops, but not acceptable to offer hormone replacement therapy to transgender troops. ABC News has this story.

This week, President Trump announced the end of a national network of doctors who specifically took care of LGBTQ+ veterans. Representative Mark Takano, the top Democrat on the House Veterans Affairs Committee, vowed to fight on this matter, according to The Advocate.

A report in The Buckeye Flame about teachers in Ohio teaching each other how to show respect for transgender, nonbinary, and other LGBTQ+ students without breaking the state’s new laws.

Health Council Netherlands released the report of its two-year-long review of services to transgender youth. The report cited many benefits of gender-affirming care for those under age 18, it noted that few transgender people detransition, and it found that, “non-treatment is therefore not a neutral option.” It recommended efforts to shorten wait times for services.
