We find it suspicious that the new recommendation for delaying surgery makes the age of 19 a significant milestone. 19 years of age is exactly the age mentioned in President Trump’s executive order on gender-affirming care. Erin Reed of Erin In The Morning finds it beyond suspicious. For agreeing with President Trump’s apparently arbitrary age limit, and for not giving good justifications for the agreement, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons gets a TWIT, which it shares with the American Medical Association.
During a U.S. Senate hearing on the impact of the proposed merger of Netflix and Warner Brothers, Senator Josh Hawley asked CEO Ted Saarandos why “almost half” of the children’s programming on Netflix “promotes transgender ideology.” For making such a wild claim and not backing it up with statistics, and for bringing it up at a hearing which was supposed to be about the antitrust impact of a proposed merger, Senator Josh Hawley gets a TWIT. This story comes from THEM
The House Judiciary Committee this week held a hearing on “Europe’s Threat to American Speech and Innovation: Part II.” It’s not a very timely issue, as Americans have free speech problems of our own, and moreover, the person speaking was Graham Linehaan, a former comedy writer who hasn’t worked lately, because he is too absorbed in his anti-transgender crusade to write comedy. For obsessing over a comedy writer who was never that funny and has become too political to hire, the Republicans of the House Judiciary Committee get a TWIT. LGBTQ Nation has this story.
“Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender” is a group of Democrats and former Democrats who oppose their party’s stance on transgender rights. They are suing over the right to use the word “Democrats” in their name. Our concern is this idea that their views on gender are “informed,” when in fact their views are opposed to the conclusions of scientific studies on the topic. For opposing a scientific stance on the topic while calling themselves “informed,” DIAG gets a TWIT. This story comes from LGBTQ Nation.
The Department of Defense is currently at odds with the Boy Scouts over the latter’s willingness to accept transgender people. The Department of Defense agrees that this is a violation of President Trump’s stance against DEI, as well as his stance against the acceptance of any genders other than the two “biological” genders. For promoting their own ideology at the expense of a decades-old partnership, the Department of Defense gets a TWIT. Erin In The Morning has this story.
