As we keep reminding our readers, the Utah state legislature authorized a study to determine whether permanent bans on gender-affirming care for minors were a good idea. They tried to create a panel which they felt would tell them that a permanent ban was a good idea. But, the study that they commissioned said that neither a ban on gender-affirming care for minors nor other anti-transgender legislation was necessary. Nonetheless, the Utah House of Representatives voted in favor of a permanent ban on gender-affirming care for minors, as well as a ban on health care for state employees covering gender-affirming care, and a requirement that private insurers who cover gender-affirming care also cover detransition care. The Utah News Dispatch has this story.

As the Epstein files trickle into public view, we are reminded of Ana Cordero, a transgender teen who was lured into the billionaire’s acquaintance on the promise of help with a modeling career. She did not get help with modeling, but she did get a lot of use as a sex toy. She became one of the first, if not the first, to accuse Jeffrey Epstein of sexual impropriety with underage women, and her call was dismissed. Queerty says that it was another case of powerful men dismissing what a transgender woman says. It was that, but to be fair, those same powerful men dismissed what a lot of cisgender females said about Jeffrey Epstein, too.
