The Department of Education has announced that San Jose State University violated Title IX when it allowed a transgender woman to play on its women’s volleyball team. For bending time in order to install its interpretation of title IX before President Trump was re-inaugurated, the Trump Department of Education gets a TWIT. The Hill has this story.
As we mentioned in the news, lawmakers in Kansas are trying to pass a bathroom bill, and are using an emergency procedure which bypasses public comment. They are making the bathroom bill a rider on a bill which would deny the right to change the sex marker on a driver’s license. For trying to keep the public from voicing an opinion as they deny the rights of people whom they consider lesser than themselves, Kansas lawmakers get a TWIT. We mentioned recently that certain scholars of the Holocaust feel that the treatment of transgender people bears similarities to early signs of genocide. When this opinion from scholars was mentioned in debate at the Arizona state legislature, the Senate Governing Committee Chairman Jake Foffman cut off Senator Albert Levenshon. Monty Fritts, a candidate for Governor of Tennessee, this week called for the execution of parents who support their transgender children, and doctors who supply gender-affirming care to minors in the state. He calls gender-affirming care “an assault on the sanctity of life,” even though gender-affirming care does not kill people, but execution does. For rushing to execute anyone who disagrees with the policy of the state on this matter, and for getting the threat on the sanctity of life exactly backwards, Monty Fritts gets a TWIT.
