On Tuesday, President Trump held a rally at Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania. Only about 200 people showed up. Nonetheless, he went on and on, going through some of his greatest hits, including the accusation that Democrats want “transgender for all,” “transgender for every member of your family.” He never explained what he meant by “transgender for every member of your family,” but then, he never explained his plan to improve “affordability” at the grocery store, either. For rambling and not addressing the topic at hand, and for introducing the meaningless phrases, “transgender for all” and “transgender for every member of your family,” President Donald Trump gets a TWIT. The Advocate has this story.
The Department of Health and Human Services has deliberately deadnamed Admiral Rachel Levine on her official portrait. For ignoring the legal name change granted by a judge and instead using the former Secretary of Health’s deadname, and for one of the clearest acts of animus imaginable, the Department of Health and Human Services gets a TWIT. This story comes from NPR.
In a heated exchange, Governor Gavin Newsom’s press office responded to Elon Musk and added, “We’re sorry your daughter hates you, Elon.” Musk replied, “I assume you’re referring to my son, [deadname], who has a tragic mental illness caused by the evil woke mind virus you push on vulnerable children. I love [deadname] very much and hope he recovers.” For insisting that he knows more about mental illness than the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, and similar groups worldwide, and for refusing to use the name and gender of his transgender daughter, Elon Musk gets a TWIT. LGBTQ Nation has this story.
Representative Nancy Mace went into a profanity-laden rant at Charleston International Airport. She blamed the bad publicity on police filing “a fictitious police incident report.” For reasons unknown, she also brought transgender people into the accusations. She claims to be a victim because she has fought us relentlessly. For blaming us without proof, Nancy Mace gets a TWIT. This story comes from The Advocate.
A new bill in Florida would make it illegal to use opposition to transgender people as a reason to fire an employee. For attempting to protect people who make life difficult for transgender people, the legislators behind this effort get a TWIT. Erin Reed has this story at Erin In The Morning.
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has filed a lawsuit against the Endocrine Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, accusing them of conspiracy to promote gender-affirming care for transgender youth. For thinking that lawyers with a large degree of animus know medicine better than medical organizations, and for suing these organizations for not supporting his animus, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier gets a TWIT. This story comes from Them.
