The ban on gender-affirming care for members of military families was removed from the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2026. This means will continue to provide gender-affirming care for transgender family members who get their medical care through the military. Erin Reed has this story at Erin In The Morning.

A three-judge panel of the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled that the Trump administration may begin enforcing its ban on transgender people in the military. The Supreme Court would likely agree, if the case gets appealed to them. The one judge who disagreed wrote a very strong dissent. This story comes from The Hill.

The state of Texas has accused two doctors of fraudulent billing of the state’s Medicaid program. Texas law says that Medicaid will not pay for gender-affirming care for transgender minors. The doctors allegedly provided such care, and billed Medicaid for other services. Reuters has this story.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene says that GOP leaders in the House of Representatives promised her that there would be a vote on her bill to ban gender-affirming care for minors. The Texas Department of Public Safety has banned four transgender people from visiting the Capitol building for one year. Their crime was using the restroom of the gender with which they identify. Texas law now requires them to use the restroom of the gender assigned them at birth. KXAN-TV has this story.

The U.S. Department of Justice is now defending some cisgender students who were suspended after they called a transgender student a “girl boy.” This story comes from Them.

Mother Jones reports that Congress is looking into forbidding transgender women from participating in athletics at military academies.

California Governor Gavin Newsom bragged on the Ezra Klein podcast that he has signed “more pro-trans legislation” than any other governor. The Advocate suspects that that is true, but points out that most keep track of pro-trans legislation state-by-state, not according to the governor.
