As we noted in the news, the Department of Justice has subpoenaed children’s hospitals which have or had transgender medical clinics, demanding that they turn over all written records of transgender patients under 19 years of age. For demanding that the hospitals break patient privacy laws, and for going all out in attempting to prevent the most effective and safe treatment of gender dysphoria, the Department of Justice gets a TWIT. Also in the news, we mentioned that President Trump has told insurance companies which cover government employees to stop covering gender-affirming care for federal workers and their families. For preventing what science has shown is both safe and the most effective way to deal with gender dysphoria, the Trump administration gets a TWIT. This story comes from Them.
Representative Nancy Mace has filed a bill which would forbid the government funding any experiments on animals for the purposes of transgender research. She calls the bill the “Transgender Research on Animals Now Stops and Money for Ideological Cruelty Eliminated Act,” which becomes known as the “TRANS MICE Act.” Transgender Mice is a long-since-discredited misrepresentation of research into “transgenic mice” into “transgender mice.” President Trump made that misstatement in a speech, promising to bring such research to an end. For creating a bill to solve a problem which has never existed, Nancy Mace gets another TWIT. The Advocate has this story.
In the news, we also mentioned that the state of Florida, under Governor Ron DeSantis, has painted over several rainbow crosswalks in the state, in compliance with the expressed desires of President Trump. This includes a rainbow crosswalk in memory of the victims of the shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. The crew from the state painted over the memorial during the night. During the day, residents repainted the rainbow crosswalk, and repainted it again after the state obliterated their handiwork. For pigheadeness in the name of bigotry, and for dishonouring the memory of the slain, the state of Florida and Governor Ron DeSantis get a TWIT. This story comes from Them.
