The Department of Education and the Justice Department have announced the formation of a new “Title IX Special Investigative Team,” whose job is to find transgender athletes on girls’ and women’s sports teams, so that they can be prosecuted. We know that the number of transgender athletes in the NCAA is “less than 10,” which is fewer than the number of felonies of which President Trump has been convicted. For forming a task force charged with finding something which so rarely happens, the Trump administration gets a TWIT. This story comes from Them.
President Trump has demanded that the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum remove transgender women from its displays, claiming that the inclusion of transgender women was “improper ideology.” For attempting to intimidate through the misuse of language, for taking his own ideology of “two genders, determined by sex at birth” well past its limits, and for obsessing over the inclusion of transgender people, President Trump gets another TWIT. This story comes from Erin In The Morning.
It has been determined that the Trump administration is refusing to answer questions from reporters who list their pronouns in their e-mail signatures. For taking the obsession with biological sex far past its logical limits, these officials from the Trump administration get a TWIT. This story comes from The Advocate.
Fox News hosts have used various excuses to defend President Trump’s new tariffs. One claim, apparently attributed to commentator Jesse Watters, is that the tariffs can make Americans into real men. He has a very odd theory, which starts with the idea that working with computer screens all day makes one feminine, even if the workers are men. This assertion is made without reasoning. For conjecture with no attempt to line it up with reality, Jesse Watters and everyone at Fox News who went along with him get a TWIT. LGBTQ Nation has this story.
Senator Tommy Tuberville, who turned to politics after a career as a college football coach, made the statement that “entire men’s teams” are “turning trans,” in order to compete as women. He failed to cite any example, and no one else could come up with one. For hyperbole beyond belief, Senator Tommhy Tuberville gets a TWIT. This story comes from The Advocate.
Kanye West tried to break a record for most posts to X in 25 minutes. Several of his tweets insulted transgender people. One in particular said, “You start dating trans women and wondering why y’all got so many things in common.” For choosing to target a vulnerable community in his tweets, Ye gets a TWIT. PinkNews has this story.
J.K. Rowling has lost a lot of followers due to her anti-transgender views. This week, she attacked another vulnerable community. She tweeted “Happy International Fake Oppression Day to everyone who wants complete strangers to know that they don’t fancy a shag.” The post included a graphic which discussed International Asexual Day. Out.com has this story. Then, she told John Oliver to “read the f***ing room,” after he defended transgender athletes. Perhaps Ms. Rowling needs to read the room as well, since polling shows that transgender athletes are not a very important issue to the public. For further damaging her own reputation by putting her prejudices on display, J.K Rowling gets a TWIT. The story about John Oliver can be found at LGBTQ Nation.
