U.S. District Judge Mary McElroy accused the Department of Justice of deliberately misleading her court, and said that they were “proven unworthy” of trust in the matter of gender-affirming care. This judge, who joined others in saying that the Trump administration’s attempts at getting medical records of patients receiving gender-affirming care violate the law, was actually appointed by President Trump. The Trump Administration has not let a little thing like harsh court opinions influence them to cut back on their pursuit of medical records of transgender children. Instead, they have convened a grand jury in the northern district of Texas, and are urging that grand jury to issue subpoenas for the medical records.
