A federal judge has blocked the Federal Trade Commission from investigating medical organizations over their support of gender-affirming care for transgender patients. The judge says that the investigations show “extensive” evidence of animus. Erin Reed has this story at Erin In The Morning.

The National Center for LGBTQ Rights has filed a federal lawsuit claiming that Department of Justice has scaled back protections which keep transgender prisoners from being raped. This story comes from LGBTQ Nation.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Department of Justice has decided to “voluntarily dismiss” its appeal of a court decision in an effort to force Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to turn over medical records of transgender minors who are receiving gender-affirming care.

The Office of Child Advocate for the state of Rhode Island has filed an emergency motion in the case in which a federal judge in Texas has demanded that a hospital in Rhode Island turn over medical records concerning transgender minors. This story comes from The Advocate.

The Minnesota Aurora, a women’s soccer team, announced the signing of Isaac Ranson, a transmasculine goaltender. So, a woman’s soccer team signed a transman as a goaltender. The Advocate has this story.

Frank Liberati, a candidate for Michigan’s state Legislature, has filed a lawsuit seeking to disqualify his primary challenger, on the grounds that she, a transgender woman, did not list her deadname on her nominating petitions. The ACLU of Michigan claims that she is covered by a provision allowing for the use of a commonlaw name change. Erin In The Morning reports that Michigan democrats are supporting the transgender candidate, Joanne Whaley, in this matter.

A new survey by the Trevor Project reveals that transgender youth who are denied the hormone therapy that they desire have twice the suicide risk of those who actually get HRT. Erin Reed has this story at Erin In The Morning.

The British Medical Association expressed opposition to the Cass Review when it first came out, but this week, a leading figure in that organization announced that he agrees with the study. LGBTQ Nation has this story.

Mother Jones takes a look at six anti-transgender ballot proposals which voters will vote on this fall. The author sees a similarity to the “traditional marriage” ballot proposals which were used to try to get conservative voters to show up at the polls a couple of decades ago.
