District Judge Amanda K. Brailsford issued a 30-page ruling which blocks enforcement of Idaho’s new anti-transgender restroom law. Her injunction only holds when there is no single-user restroom on the same floor of that building. Erin Reed has this story at Erin In The Morning.
The Federal Trade Commission has filed a lawsuit against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, claiming that they misrepresented the dangers of gender-affirming therapy for minors. The Federal Trade Commission is joined in this suit by the attorneys general of four very conservative-leaning states, which themselves misrepresented the dangers of gender-affirming therapy for minors when they passed legislation outlawing such therapy. Kalena “Peaches” Croskey, a 32-year-old Black trans woman, died in Birmingham, Alabama, while being held at the city jail. Police are investigating her death, according to Them.
S.J. Joslin was fired from their job as a park ranger for climbing El Capitan and planting a transgender pride flag. This week, a judge dismissed the suit filed by Joslin, saying that they must first try the civil service process before filing a lawsuit. The Advocate has this story.
Children’s Hospital of Colorado announced that the hospital is resuming gender-affirming care for minors, but added that no doctors have agreed to provide such care. The announcement by the hospital was in response to a lawsuit attempting to force the hospital to resume gender-affirming care. Needless to say, the litigants are not satisfied. Several players for the York REvolution, a minor-league team which plays in Pennsylvania, refused to wear the team’s Pride Night jerseys.
