Jayla McGee, a Black transgender teen, was shot and killed in Florida on July 5. We regret not bringing you this story sooner, but the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office misgendered Ms. McGee, and the media barely noticed the killing. The Advocate has this story.

Earlier this month, Amnesty International U.K. released a report entitled, “A Growing Threat: The Anti-Rights Movement in the U.K.” Among the groups listed were some which were specifically opposed to the rights of transgender individuals. J.K. Rowling threatened to use her wealth to cover the legal expenses for any organization which brought legal proceedings against Amnesty International U.K. over this report. Amnesty International U.K. quickly issued a sort of retraction, distancing themselves from the report. This week, on J.K.
