A clear eyed look at the current political climate in the United States shows that the conservative party is firmly opposed to equal rights for transgender people. While not all of the Democrats are completely cool with the existence of people with trans or other identities, the party has supported the rights of transgender people to exist. Republican controlled legislatures have done nothing to support transgender people. They have gone in the opposite direction.
