Merry Independence Day!

It was only a few hundred years ago that we cast off the yoke of oppression and declared our independence from the British Empire. Well, when I say “we” I don’t mean me personally. My ancestors were still hanging around The Old Country back then (and not the Old Country Buffet, either). But “we” the American people said, No more King George! We will no longer pay you taxes without being represented within your government. Then those wild eyed firebrands wrote up the Declaration of Independence and we were on our way to freedom. Huzzah! Throw that tea in the harbor!

Whoa, I got carried away there with patriotic fervor. Please forgive me. I’m going to JoAnn’s house later today to celebrate the 4th with smoked meat. Now that’s American! We’ll even have some hot dogs and burgers standing by if the smoked meat isn’t patriotic enough.

While we are enjoying our 4th of July feast please partake of our 4th of July content. We begin with a red, white and blue edition of The Week In Transgenderism. I have culled all the trans-specific stories from the Internet from the past week and assembled them for your inspection. We have it all and even a few TWITs. For the most satisfying TG news don’t miss TWIT!

The Artist D: Christmas Ho (Ho Ho) Wig

The Artist D, an independent lady who loves her country, is with us today. Her topic is hair. Gimme down to there, hair! Shoulder length and longer. . . Sorry. D has advice about how to choose your hair, where to buy it and how to make sure it serves you well. And she presents it with the wit and humor you know and love. Keeping to the Independence Day theme her article is titled Thomas Jefferson’s Wig.

Perpetual Change brings us an interview with a hard working musician from England who happens to be TG. She plays in two musical groups and composes her own material. She has found that her greatest acceptance is not from the transgender community but from straight music fans. Meet Diana Stone as Pamela DeGroff interviews her for Perpetual Change. And there are some other music notes in this PC as well!

Sophie Lynne

Sophie Lynne is with us today with the third and final chapter in her TG fiction piece, The New Girl. Find out what The Spirit (sounds like a ’30s crime fighter, don’t it?) does to George and Nikki. What? Nikki too? There’s only one way to learn the answers to your questions about The New Girl — read Chapter 3!

That’s our offering for today. We hope you enjoy it. We hope you have a wonderful July 4th! Don’t blow your hand off and don’t eat too much. While missing fingers make manicures cheaper it’s not a good look, and too much July 4th cooking out can leave you bloated. Have fun within limits this 4th!
