When Legends Meet
David de Alba, the last member of Finocchio’s cast of fabulous female impersonators to still be performing, is doing it again this November at The Onyx Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show happens on November 11 and it is a tribute to Judy Garland. While he was rehearsing for the show David de Alba, legendary female impersonator, was visited by legendary entertainer and oddball of the disco era, none other than Disco Tex of Disco Tex and his Sex-O-Lettes, also know as Monti Rock III. Readers of a certain age will remember Monti’s appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. While Monti wasn’t transgendered he was certainly flamboyant and helped some of us to know there were other lifestyles to explore. Monti now lives in Las Vegas and writes for a local paper. He brought David a bouquet and interviewed him for his column. Here are the pictures to prove it.

David puts on a fabulous show, whether as Boy-Chic, Liza Minelli or Judy Garland. The November show is a MUST SEE!!!
Break-a-leg David. Love, CC
Hello:
Monti is a lovely person, indeed….while these photos were taken via a short video at our home (the home I share with my long-time partner Paul Ryner),he ‘Monti’ brought also to me those lovely flowers that you see on the photo and also a lovely art present that he made especially for me…it was very sweet of him to do that!
Monti said to me smiling all the way through while the photos were being taken: “David, I am The Puerto Rican Legend and you are The Cuban Legend!”
Anyway, he did a live interview on me and then we spoke about many things including his former TV and movie career; also we spoke about Judy Garland, and of course, about my upcoming show in November, etc.
By the way, I would like to ask of any of you who live in the Las Vegas area to please give me your moral support by coming to see this all newly revised Judy Garland Tribute Concert Event….I am working very hard to make this Judy Tribute, my best one ever, but I need you to be there!
Thank you,
David de Alba
