As we mentioned in the news, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that bans on Medicaid payments for gender-affirming care are legal and can encourage citizens to “appreciate their sex.” For establishing a goal which does not happen through a funding ban, the judges who issued this decision receive a TWIT. This story comes from Them.

In a legal opinion allowing the state of Kansas to invalidate drivers’s licenses of transgender people in order to force them to get new ones with their “sex at birth” listed, the judge praised the “tolerant, understanding, accepting” residents of Kansas. If the people of Kansas were so “tolerant, understanding, accepting,” there would be no law like the one before the judge. For not realizing the obvious exclusion of one group of people from justice, this judge gets a TWIT. The Kansas Reflector has this story.

A transgender man hired to manage a Chili’s Grill & Bar in suburban Chicago was fired after less than a month on the job because his “personal values and lifestyle did not align” with those of the chain. For discrimination against transgender people, Chili’s gets a TWIT. This story comes from The Independent.

When the Republicans of the Idaho House of Representatives passed a bill which forces schools to tell parents when their child tries to change gender at school, the Democrats resorted to the rarely-used tactic of issuing a minority report. The Republicans blocked the release of that report. For stifling freedom of speech, and for abuse of power, the Republican majority gets a TWIT. Idaho Education News has this story.

Virginia state Representative John McGuire introduced a bill which would allow college athletes to sue when the opposing team allows a transgender athlete to compete. He named the bill the “Riley Gaines Act.” For naming the bill after an athlete who grumbled when she had to share fifth place in a swimming meet with a trangender athlete, Virginia state Representative John McGuire gets a TWIT. This story comes from The Advocate.

The U.S. Olympic Committee created the Order of Ikkos medal to be presented by an Olympic athlete to “a coach, mentor, or other individual who has been instrumental in their success.” Kaillie Humphries recently decided to give that medal to President Trump, for his efforts to limit participation in women’s sports to “biological women.” For giving the award to someone who is not a coach or mentor, Kaillie Humphries gets a TWIT. This story comes from Them.

As we mentioned in the news, the National Health Service for England has announced that it is conducting a new review of the effectiveness of HRT for adults with gender dysphoria. According to Erin Reed at Erin In The Morning, they have excluded 97% of all published studies on the effects of HRT on transgender individuals. For excluding the studies already peer reviewed and published because they disagree with the findings, NHS England gets a TWIT.
