The International Olympic Committee recently announced that it would resume testing athletes competing as females. Specifically, it will test for the presence of SRY, a gene which is typically associated with males. However, there are documented cases where women who became pregnant and gave birth. For choosing a test with such a history, the International Olympic Committee gets a TWIT. Mother Jones has this story.
When the social media account for the Democrats wrote, “Trans rights are human rights,” in recognition of Transgender Day of Visibility, an account from Senate Republicans replied with the single word, “No.” For denying that transgender rights are human rights, the Senate Republicans get a TWIT. This story comes from LGBTQ Nation.
The White House not only refused to recognize Transgender Day of Visibility, it went significantly farther, declaring President Biden’s policy as “transgender for everybody insanity,” and praising President Trump for “a decisive victory” by means of “the swift and unrelenting dismantling of subversive, woke policies that endangered children, eroded women’s rights, assaulted common sense, and dragged America towards moral and cultural decline.” The message also revived the old chestnut about Transgender Day Of Visibility falling on Easter, when in fact, Transgender Day of Visibility has a fixed day on the Gregorian calendar and Easter moves around. For blaming an observance with a fixed date for happening on the same day as a movable observance, and for prematurely declaring victory in the culture war, the White House gets a TWIT. The Advocate has this story.
