I would say, as a short answer, if you need to ask this question, you might be transgender, but you’re most likely not transsexual. As someone wrote above, the transgender umbrella casts a wide net; if you’re gender-variant in any way, it applies to you. But if you’re transition-bound, there should be no ambivalence in what you want. Certainly, you can be uncertain about the process and/or the outcome, but it’s what’s in your heart and what has always been in your heart.
