 Houston is the place to be the weekend of April 13-15.  The Houston Transgender Unity Commitee is holding their 15th annual Unity Banquet on the 14th of April.  Keynote speaker is activist Ray Hill.  Sure, there’s one night of ceremony, but an entire weekend of fun.    Tickets are online at HTUC’s website.

It also sucks to plan to become a woman.  But, Julie Nemecek and Steve Stanton aren’t going down quietly.  Nemecek is fighting her dismissal from a Michigan college.   And Stanton may yet keep working as city manager in a Florida community.

And on a lighter note, there’s evidence that the composer Richard Wagner was one of us.  Playbill has the story.  No, not Playboy.  Playbill.   Considering Wagner composed “Ride of the Valkries“, Bugs doing drag makes that much more sense.
