The Trump Administration released its 400-page report on health care for children with gender dysphoria. The report questions whether gender-affirming medical care produces the good results that peer-reviewed studies attribute to it. The report recommends “behavioural therapy,” which is actually conversion therapy, be used on transgender children, despite the fact that many studies show conversion therapy to be ineffective or counterproductive. According to NPR, the Department of Health and Human Services is withholding the names of the authors of the study. while the work is being peer-reviewed. (In academia, peer review comes before publication. This has been published before it is peer reviewed.)

Even before the report as released, the White House web site had a post which described gender-affirming medical care as “chemical and surgical mutilation,” and called gender-affirming care, “immoral, unjust, and disproven practices.” The post is about the accomplishments of President Trump’s first 100 days in office, and one of his big claims is opposing “gender ideology.” This story comes from The Advocate.

Erin Reed found a lot of lies in the report released on Thursday, but concentrated on a few of the more outlandish claims.

The Ohio Supreme Court ruled that the state may enforce its ban on gender-affirming care for minors while a trial determines the constitutionality of that ban. LGBTQ Nation has this story.

Kelsey Elem was a 25-year-old Black transgender woman. She was killed during an argument with her boyfriend, reports Pittsburgh Lesbian correspondents.

John Lee Smith III, a Texas man, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He shot a transgender woman on the morning of August 23, 2023. His victim survived the shooting, thanks to prompt medical care. At the time of the shooting, he was out on bond, following the murder of the father of his then-girlfriend’s children. The Democrats have reintroduced the Equalities Act, legislation which would protect LGBTQ people from discrimination. The legislation is unlikely to pass in the current Congress, and if it did, President Trump would almost certainly veto it. This story comes from The Advocate.

The city of Spokane has voted to become a sanctuary city. This comes at a time when the Trump administration has threatened to “go after” sanctuary cities. LGBTQ Nation has this story.

A new poll by The 19th News found that the plurality of Americans think that politicians should not be focusing on transgender people.

Robert De Niro’s daughter, Airyn De Niro, has come out as transgender. The revelation was made public in an interview with Them. Her father has indicated he accepts her gender identity.

The news of Airyn De Niro coming out as transgender, and her father voicing her acceptance of her gender identity, caused Them to update their story from March highlighting celebrities with transgender or non-binary children.

Pedro Almodovar received the Chaplin Award from the Film Society of Lincoln Center. He debated coming to the U.S. to accept the award, but decided to do so. The only out transgender judge in the U.K. says she will challenge the Supreme Court’s ruling excluding transgender women from the Equalities Act to the European Court of Human Rights. This story can be found in PinkNews.

The U.K. Human Rights Commission has tied to make a guess regarding when a transgender woman is a woman and shen she isn’t. While this was intended to provide clarity, it actually confused things even more, according to LGBTQ Nation.

Trans women have been banned from women’s teams in both Soccer and Cricket in England and Wales. BBC Sport has this story.

The National Health Services will start screening transgender youths for autism and ADHD. The Cass Report noted that transgender youths were more likely to be autistic or to have ADHD than the average teenagers. This story comes from Them.
