Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives have stripped all the anti-transgender riders from the remaining budget bills for this fiscal year. The bills, with no anti-transgender riders, head to the Senate for paassage. Erin Reed has this story at Erin In The Morning.
The appeals court for Washington, D.C., is hearing a case on President Trump’s proposed ban on transgender people in the military. According to Courthouse News, the judges see no reason for the ban other than President Trump’s animus towards transgender people in general.
Another federal judge has the subpoenas from the Department of Justice requesting records of transgender patients under the age of 18 are a “fishing expedition.” The Department of Justice does not have enough solid evidence to merit these subpoenas, according to Judge Jule Rubin. She is at least the fourth judge to rule against the subpoenas, as The Advocate points out.
