A federal judge sided with families of transgender children in Pennsylvania, saying that the Department of Justice did not show sufficient cause for subpoeanas demanding medical records from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Unfortunately. the decision is likely to be appealed. The Advocate has this story.

Republican in Congress are now trying to pass a law banning funding for gender-affirming care under the Affordable Care Act. Politico reports that several Republican-leaning candidates lost their bids to be re-elected to the local school boards. This means that there will be fewer anti-transgender school board policies passed, and fewer districts will be removing transgender material from school libraries.

In an interview with Uncloseted Media, Mayor-elect Erica Deuso of Downington, Pennsylvania, said that her electoral victory came from emphasizing her local policies, rather than from being openly transgender.

According to a report in National Security, the State Department’s annual report on global human rights will talk of rights “given to us by God, our creator.” This will downplay the civil rights of transgender and other LGBTQ people, among other rights. There will also be less emphasis on political killings, torture, and minority rights. More specifically, embassies must now include a report on “the chemical or surgical mutilation of children” by means of gender-affirming medical care, and must report on state subsidization of abortion.

A new study found that gender-affirming medical treatments reduced suicidality by nearly 70%, and that only 7 of 432 patients discontinued treatment once it began. This flies in the face of the opinions of “experts,” who question the effectiveness at reducing depression and suicidal tendencies, and who also insist that there are a lot of detransitioners.
