David de Alba, the last of the entertainers from the golden years of the San Francisco impersonator club Finocchio’s to still be performing, has always been aware that unless it is preserved the story of the club and the performers of that era will fade away. In order to keep that time and those people in TG history de Alba has done interviews, recordings and photo galleries. In  reviewing the audio recordings he had done he found that he could put together a two CD set,of songs, backstage talk and anecdotes about the club. He released the CDs under the title David de Alba — Backstage Memoirs & Rare Recordings — Vol 1-2.
The quality of the recording is not great since they were done on a consumer model tape recorder with just one microphone but true fans of David de Alba and female impersonation will want to hear it all. The audio from the CD has been posted on YouTube and at de Alba’s urging we provide the material here.
