Kim Petras“I was asked if I feel like a woman now, but the truth is I have always I was asked if I feel like a woman now, but the truth is I have always felt like a woman — I just ended up in the wrong body.

“I can enjoy swimming, and bikinis, go in the changing rooms without a problem, everything has changed because of this operation. I just can’t wait to put on my favorite bathing suit and go swimming like I’ve never done before.” — Kim Petras

Just when you think it’s safe to hit “send” on a supposedly finished article, something new comes along. The Transvocalizers installment on Kim Petras unfortunately contains some incorrect information. Please let me explain.

Those of you who use AOL know that the “welcome” page contains teaser headlines for several different stories in many different categories. However, all the really hard news is gone since President Hussein is now in office. What’s left is mostly celebrity fluff and stuff like 18 (mostly legal) Things To Do With A Pound Of Hamburger.

On February 5 one of the “fluff” headlines that caught my eye was something about a sixteen year old boy having a “sex change.”

Having posted the Kim Petras article last week, I thought, “Naw…couldn’t be.” But, instinct made me read it any way, and sure ‘nuff, it was about our girl Kim.

The article was brief, but gave a link to the British newspaper The Sun. In an article by Vince Soodin entitled Teen Sex Swap Girl Talks, it was revealed that Kim did have SRS last month. Quoting from the article:

“Dr. Bernd Meyenburg, who treats patients with identity disorders at the University of Frankfurt Hospital said, ‘Very few youth psychiatrists have any experience with transsexual developments. The families wander from one psychiatrists to the next.

“I was always against such operations on children so young but after seeing how happy one of my patients was and how well adjusted after returning from having the operation abroad while still a teenager, I realized that in some cases it is the right decision

“Kim is such a case-she always knew what she wanted.'”

Well, it obvious that Kim and her family found a way around the German law stating that SRS cannot be performed on anyone under the age of 18.

I recently contacted Kim about doing an exclusive interview for TGForum. She responded that she would like to, so I emailed a few questions to her. Given the fact that she’s in Germany, and there are such considerations as time zones and trans-Atlantic telecommunication charges, doing an interview over the phone was out of the question. (Unless, of course, Angela applies for some bailout/stimulus money for TGForum…) And it’s likely that Kim will be a bit busy at the moment since everyone would probably like to talk to her. But, I’ll keep trying to get the interview. So, hopefully soon, TGForum will be graced with an in-depth interview with Kim Petras.
