Happy New Year! Welcome to the last TWIT of 2018! Trans people often get misgendered after they die due to the way death certificates are issued. Trans people over 60 will get a 40% discount on train tickets in India. A civilization 3000 years ago in Persia recognized a third gender. There’s all that and a few TWIT Awards waiting for you in the last TWIT of 2018!

Dana shares the guideline followed by researchers and one of those guidelines is about confidentiality. She comments on all the guidelines and gives you good reasons why you should consider being a part of the research into why we are who we are.

Who Really Has a Mental Disorder?
Christine B. asks why is it that people who are uniformed about transgender people often assume that transgender people have mental health issues and that’s why they want to change their gender. The evidence that gender is not set in stone at birth is there for anyone to see throughout history, and in all cultures. Why do people say transgender identities are not real when there are other things that they accept completely on faith with no physical proof?
